Project Overview

Buzzin’ Sours is a sour, alcoholic shot created by Heart of America Beverage as an introduction to the world of liquor and spirits. Working as a part of a team, I wasn’t tasked with an entire rebrand. My goal was to elaborate on set assets, a logo and illustrated characters, that had previous inspired the company to invest in the brand. I created social media and a more-complete branding set throughout multiple platforms, including print materials, which would be distributed to local suppliers.

Given that this wasn’t an entire recreation of the brand, there were some challenges with furthering the direction of the project. Instead of creating something cohesive from scratch, I had to work with the assets given to me to create social media and print marketing components. I began with color palette and typography, something the previous set had lacked which was instrumental to creating more cohesive assets.

The next goal was to create various taglines and overall marketing strategy by examining target markets. In order to pop off the shelf, the previous color palette was changed to have higher saturation, along with eye-catching descriptive words such as “punch” and “pop.” “Time for Sour Hour” was a favorite tagline, which was turned into a key graphic for the project and head been included in both social media and print compositions.
